Jo Ann von Haff was born in Angola. Of German and Portuguese origins, she started travelling at a very young age. She made her first steps in Cuba, grew up between Angola and Portugal, and graduated in the French school of Johannesburg in South Africa. She started writing seriously at the age of 16.
She travels by being a genetic nomad, is fascinated by scars and traumas of every kind, she is fond of African storytellers and loves photography. She defends the cultural melting-pot that made her and belongs to this new generation of globe-trotting children, multilingual before being able to say "mum" in any language.

Nowadays, she combines different kinds of writing, proofreading, translating and writing portraits.
